Learning agility is the ability and willingness to learn from experience and the attitudinal, cognitive, and behavioral flexibility to apply those lessons to perform well in current and new leadership roles (De Meuse, 2022).
How important is learning agility?+
Learning Agility is considered to be one of the most important attributes of supervisors, managers and leaders who desire to grow and advance in their career.
Is learning agility related to EQ?+
Yes. There are some studies that have found emotional intelligence correlates with learning agility to some extent. Likewise, from a conceptual perspective, it makes sense that some aspects of EQ likely would be associated with learning agility. With regard to the TALENTx7® Assessment, the following four facets are the most directly related to EQ: (a) Interpersonal Acumen, (b) Environmental Mindfulness, (c) Self-Insight, and (d) Feedback Responsiveness.
Is learning agility related to IQ?+
Generally, not. Several studies have found the correlation between one’s overall learning agility and one’s IQ is virtually zero. With regard to the TALENTx7® Assessment, the only specific facet that is somewhat related to IQ is “Cognitive Perspective.” And, in this case, the correlation is relatively low (about r = 0.25).
